Nghe An Province leaders offer incense to commemorate General Vo Nguyen Giap in Quang Binh
On the morning of July 16, on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2024), a delegation from the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An Province laid flowers and offered incense at the grave of General Vo Nguyen Giap at Vung Chua - Dao Yen, Quang Dong Commune, Quang Trach District, Quang Binh Province.
Mr. Thai Thanh Quy, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council, and Head of the Provincial Delegation to the National Assembly, led the delegation.
The participants included members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Commission for Publicity and Education; Pham Trong Hoang - Chairman of the Provincial Party Inspection Commission; Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Chairwoman of the Fatherland Front Committee of the province; Nguyen Nam Dinh - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Bui Thanh An - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Major General Bui Quang Thanh - Director of the Provincial Public Security Department.
Representatives from various units included: the Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs; the Office of the Provincial Party Committee; the Office of the Provincial People's Committee; the Provincial Border Guard Command; the Provincial Youth Union; the Provincial Veterans Association; the Provincial Women's Union; the Provincial Labor Federation; and the Provincial Farmers' Association.
Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Thai Thanh Quy and the members in the delegation respectfully laid flowers and offered incense in remembrance and gratitude for the exceptional contributions and sacrifices to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the Vietnamese nation by General Vo Nguyen Giap, an outstanding and close student of President Ho Chi Minh, and the "Elder Brother" of the Vietnam People's Army.
General Vo Nguyen Giap was born on August 25, 1911, in Loc Thuy Commune, Le Thuy District, Quang Binh Province, into a scholarly family with a rich patriotic tradition in a region with a strong historical, cultural, and revolutionary tradition.
Throughout more than 80 years of revolutionary activity, General Vo Nguyen Giap's life was closely linked with the struggle for national liberation, building and defending the country. He was entrusted with many important responsibilities by the Party, President Ho Chi Minh and the people.
In any position, General Vo Nguyen Giap always adhered to President Ho Chi Minh's teaching: "Put the public interest first", prioritizing the interests of the Party, the revolution, and the people.
The General was an outstanding military leader and a highly regarded figure of the Party, State, and people, beloved and acknowledged by the officers and soldiers of the People's Army of Vietnam, who regarded him as the "Elder Brother" of the Vietnam People's Army.
As time passes, the exceptional contributions of General Vo Nguyen Giap become ever more magnificent.
