Nghe An to host Lotus Cuisine Festival
Lotus flowers, with their elegance and fragrance, not only symbolize purity and grace but also inspire unforgettable culinary experiences. At the Nghe An Lotus Tourism and Cuisine Festival, visitors will be awarded with dishes made from lotus ingredients and premium lotus teas from Sen Village.
Scheduled from November 29 to December 1, 2024, the festival will be held at the Provincial Cultural Center and Ho Tung Mau Pedestrian Street in Vinh City.
Besides vibrant cultural and artistic activities at the pedestrian street, the Lotus Cuisine Festival will offer unforgettable experiences with dishes made from lotus ingredients sourced from Sen Village, Ho Chi Minh’s hometown.
The lotus flowers from Sen Village carry a unique beauty. Locals are proud not only of the flowers but also of their skill in using every part of the lotus to create special dishes, reflecting the essence of Vietnamese culture.
At the festival, visitors will experience the cultural space of Sen Village, where President Ho Chi Minh was born and raised, with activities recreating traditional village life. Visitors will also enjoy dishes made from Sen Village lotus and participate in competitions for premium lotus tea.
The large-scale festival will feature participants from various provinces and cities, with numerous booths showcasing tourism, cuisine, culture, and lotus products. The event aims to solidify lotus cuisine’s place on Vietnam’s culinary map, while also promoting tourism products from Nghe An and across the country.
The festival provides opportunities for tourism enterprises to survey and develop new tours and routes in the central region and Nghe An. It will also showcase new destinations on Nghe An’s tourism map, providing fresh materials to attract future tourists.
The "Lotus Tourism and Cuisine Festival" program is expected to feature diverse activities such as: an opening ceremony, live demonstrations of lotus-based cuisine, exhibitions showcasing tourism and culinary products from lotus, welcoming Famtrip delegations to explore Nghe An's tourism products, and a conference on developing Nghe An tourism products linked to the national tourism brand and regional tourism collaboration in North Central Vietnam.
With this program, Vinh City's pedestrian street will be a key highlight, featuring numerous booths showcasing products from Nghe An and other provinces and cities nationwide.
The festival, organized by Nghe An’s Center for Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion under the guidance of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and the Nghe An People’s Committee, is scheduled for November 29 to December 1, 2024, at the Provincial Cultural Center and Ho Tung Mau Pedestrian Street in Vinh City.
