Student from Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted wins Gold Medal at International Mathematical Olympiad
This is one of the two Gold Medals for the Vietnamese student team participating in the 2025 International Mathematical Olympiad. The person who brought home this prestigious medal is Vo Trong Khai, a student in class 12A1.

On the morning of July 19, Ms. Cao Thi Lan Thanh, Principal of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, announced that student Vo Trong Khai has excellently won a Gold Medal at the 2025 International Mathematical Olympiad.
Vo Trong Khai is a student with outstanding achievements right from the beginning of high school, with a record of scoring 20/20 on the entrance exam for the specialized Math class.
He was also the first student from the school to participate in the National Excellent Student Competition while in the 10th grade. In both 10th and 11th grade, he won the Second Prize in the national competition. In 12th grade, he excellently won the First Prize.
For all three years of high school, Vo Trong Khai was selected to participate in the second round to select the national team for the International Mathematical Olympiad.
The 66th International Mathematical Olympiad took place from July 10 to 20, 2025, in Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia, gathering over 639 contestants from 113 countries and territories.
The Vietnamese student team had 6 members participating in the competition. As a result, all 6 students won medals, including: 2 Gold Medals, 3 Silver Medals, and 1 Bronze Medal.
With a total score of 188, the Vietnamese team ranked 9th out of the 113 participating countries and territories this year, following the teams from: China (1), the USA (2), South Korea (3), Poland and Japan (tied for 4th), Israel (6), India (7), and Singapore (8).
