Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee of Nghe An, Thai Thanh Quy , visits and works with AkzoNobel Company in the Kingdom of the Netherlands
Continuing their working trip in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, on the afternoon of June 11 (local time), the provincial working delegation led by Mr. Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, and Head of the Provincial Delegation to National Assembly visited and worked at AkzoNobel Company.
Delegates from Nghe An Province attending the working session included: Mr. Le Duc Cuong - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Organizational Commission; Major General Bui Quang Thanh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Provincial Police; Mr. Nguyen Nhu Khoi - Member of the Provincial Party Committee's Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Bui Dinh Long - Member of the Provincial Party Committee's Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Directors of Departments: Planning and Investment, Finance, Transportation, Agriculture and Rural Development, Foreign Affairs.
Delegates from the Vietnamese Embassy included: Mr. Ngo Huong Nam - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
Hosting and working with the Nghe An Provincial Delegation, the leadership of AkzoNobel Company included: Mr. Armand Sohet - Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), Executive Board Member; Mr. Jesse Martens - Global Public Relations Director; Mr. Wijnand Bruinsma - Sustainable Development Director; Mr. Vincent Mol - Strategic Coatings Director.
During the working session, representatives of AkzoNobel's leadership introduced the company's history, development process, products, business activities, market segments, and customers.
AkzoNobel has a long history, with its predecessor starting in the paint business in the Netherlands in 1792 and officially founded in 1994 after several mergers.
To date, AkzoNobel has operations in over 100 countries, becoming a Dutch multinational company specializing in high-performance paints and coatings for industrial sectors worldwide, with renowned product lines such as aircraft, automotive, marine, and coastal construction coatings under a sustainable development strategy. The core values aimed at sustainable development include productivity, asset protection, surface enhancement, and environmental protection.
AkzoNobel has a significant operational history in Vietnam, serving as a production hub and pioneering investor in sustainable enterprise. AkzoNobel's largest investments in the ASEAN region include four production facilities in Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, and Bac Ninh to serve retail and project clients.
In Vietnam, the company has developed the Dulux and Maxilite paint brands, which are widely used in civil and industrial projects, capturing 28% of the global paint market. Recently, Dulux and Maxilite have participated in building quality social housing with sustainable surface coating solutions at the Ori Garden social housing project in Da Nang, and expressed a desire to be present in Nghe An Province.
Speaking at the working session, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Thai Thanh Quy expressed his gratitude to key members of AkzoNobel's leadership for taking the time to welcome and work with the delegation, demonstrating their sentiments and concern for Vietnam, including Nghe An Province.
The head of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee stated that the working visit of the Nghe An Provincial Delegation to the Netherlands took place in the context of the comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and the Netherlands, which has developed very well over more than 50 years of diplomatic relations. Currently, the Netherlands has become the largest European investor in Vietnam and the largest importer of Vietnamese goods in Europe.
Cooperation in investment and trade between Nghe An Province and partners from the Netherlands has begun to achieve positive results with many clear potentials and opportunities. In this context, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Thai Thanh Quy expressed his hope that AkzoNobel Company will soon be present in Nghe An to research the investment environment and market in the province and consider establishing production facilities in Nghe An Province in the near future; at the same time, he expressed support for the company's strategy and its interest in social projects in Nghe An Province.
He informed about some characteristics and situation of Nghe An Province, especially preferential policies, competitive advantages of the province for investors such as convenient goods transit location, increasingly synchronized infrastructure, especially transportation, finance, tourism, large population market demand, well-invested industrial park infrastructure, enjoying the highest incentives as regulated by the Government of Vietnam... The head of the Provincial Party Committee affirmed: Nghe An will allocate corresponding resources to meet the requirements of investors from the Netherlands, including AkzoNobel Company.
In response to the proposal of the head of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, representatives of AkzoNobel's leadership affirmed that Nghe An is one of the major markets and plays an important role in AkzoNobel's strategy, expressing their desire to contribute to the socio-economic development of the province; at the same time, they believe that today's meeting will be meaningful, helping to strengthen the relationship between AkzoNobel and Nghe An Province.
