During this holiday, the Truong Bon National Historical Site in My Son Commune (Do Luong District) welcomed thousands of visitors. Notably, the blooming rose myrtle flowers added a unique and captivating touch to the “fire coordinate” site - former wartime hotspot.

Once dubbed a "fire coordinate" during the resistance war against the US — a vital transportation point on the strategic North-South supply route — Truong Bon was heavily bombed and attacked by American aircraft. A total of 1,240 officers, soldiers, youth volunteers, militia, and civilians sacrificed their lives here, including 13 youth volunteer martyrs from Squad 2, Company 317 of the Nghe An Youth Volunteer Force. Today, the Truong Bon Historical Site has been carefully restored and upgraded, becoming a revered “red address” for educating young generations about the revolutionary tradition. Photo: Huy Thu

Mr. Le Khac Ha (90 years old), from Thai Son Commune (Do Luong), shared during his visit to Truong Bon: Today Icame with my children and grandchildren. Although I have visited many times, I always feel emotional. Truong Bon is a sacred land, where my friends once devoted and sacrificed for the cause of liberating the South and reunifying the country. Photo: Huy Thu
