Vinh University of Technology and Education Renamed Vinh University of Engineering and Technology
On the morning of September 21, Vinh University of Technology and Education held a ceremony announcing its new name, Vinh University of Engineering and Technology (VUTECH). The ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Education and Training Le Quan and Vice Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial People’s Committee Thai Van Thanh.
Vinh University of Technology and Education has officially been renamed Vinh University of Engineering and Technology (VUTECH), marking a new phase of development focused on applied education, technology and engineering.
With more than 65 years of history and development, Vinh University of Technology and Education is one of the region’s first institutions to train technical workers and has played an important role in developing technical human resources for northern Vietnam. The university currently offers 14 undergraduate programs and four master’s programs.
At the ceremony, the university announced decisions to rename its Party Committee, appoint the Rector and Vice Rectors, and presented a Certificate of Educational Quality Accreditation. The university also unveiled its new brand identity.
Speaking at the ceremony, leaders from the Ministry of Education and Training and Nghe An Province emphasized that the renaming marks an important turning point, opening a new phase of restructuring as the university works toward becoming a leading institution for engineering and technology education in the North Central region.
With more than 65 years of history, Vinh University of Engineering and Technology is well positioned to grow, as demand for engineering and technology programs continues to shift and industrial parks and economic zones in Nghe An expand.
However, these new expectations also bring higher requirements for faculty, training programs, research, technology transfer and stronger partnerships with businesses, helping meet the growing demand for high-quality human resources in the new phase of development.
