Delegation of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union pays courtesy visit to leaders of Nghe An province
On the afternoon of December 6, the delegation of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union paid a courtesy visit to the leaders of Nghe An province.
This meeting was part of the delegation's program of visit and working activities in Nghe An province from December 6 to December 8, 2024. The program aimed to implement the Cooperation Agreement between the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union for the 2022–2027 period. It also aimed to strengthen the special friendship, solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
On behalf of the provincial leadership, Mr. Le Hong Vinh, the Permanent Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, warmly welcomed the delegation. He affirmed that, over the years, along with the people across the country, the Party, authority and people of Nghe An province have always upheld the fine traditions fostered by the two nations' Party, State and people. Activities of exchange and cooperation in all fields have increasingly deepened, becoming more practical and effective.
Nghe An province has consistently maintained and developed cooperative relations with localities along the shared border, such as Houaphanh, Xiengkhouang, and Bolikhamxay provinces, as well as other provinces with traditional cooperative ties like Vientiane, Khammouane, Savannakhet, and Xaysomboun.
In October 2024, the Thanh Thuy - Nam On border gates were permitted to conduct cross-border trade and exchange of goods between Nghe An and Bolikhamxay provinces. This was of great significance in promoting the cooperative relationship and development between the two provinces.
In the 2024–2025 academic year, colleges and universities in Nghe An have received 220 students and trainees from Laos for education and training. Furthermore, Nghe An is the first province in the country to admit Lao students to study at the high school level under cooperation agreements. Over two academic years, High School No. 2 for Ethnic Minority Students has admitted 61 students selected from six provinces: Xiengkhouang, Houaphanh, Bolikhamxay, Vientiane, Savannakhet, and Khammouane.
Currently, Nghe An has nearly one million youths and young people, accounting for about 29% of the province's population, including 123,955 union members, ranking third in the country after Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
The youth of Nghe An and their counterparts in border-sharing provinces such as Xiengkhouang, Houaphanh, and Bolikhamxay have always fostered a spirit of solidarity and loyalty. Many meaningful and practical cooperative and friendship exchange programs and agreements have been organized.
On behalf of the provincial leadership, Mr. Le Hong Vinh expressed his hope that the youth organizations of both Vietnam and Laos in general, and Nghe An in particular, would continue to closely coordinate in organizing activities, enhancing exchanges, and sharing experiences.
He emphasized the importance of deeply instilling the special Vietnam-Laos relationship in the younger generation of both nations.
The provincial Party and authority will always create favorable conditions for the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union and the youth organization of Nghe An to strengthen collaboration across all areas.
From this meaningful meeting, Mt. Le Hong Vinh expressed confidence that the younger generation would further solidify and deepen the precious traditional friendship and solidarity between the two nations.
On behalf of the Lao delegation, Mr. Monxay Laomuaxiong, Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union, expressed gratitude for the warm and respectful welcome from the leaders of Nghe An province.
After listening to the information shared by Mr. Le Hong Vinh, Mr. Monxay Laomuaxiong extended his congratulations to Nghe An Province for its rapid, comprehensive, and sustainable development in recent years.
He also expressed his wish for more opportunities for exchanges, learning, and sharing experiences between the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union and the youth organization of Nghe An, thereby further fostering the friendship and solidarity between Laos and Vietnam, a bond that has been cultivated and nurtured by the leaders of both nations.
