Hoa Sen Group partners with SP Group on a clean energy project to prevent over 14,000 tons of CO₂ emissions annually in Nghe An
On the morning of July 18, at Dong Hoi Industrial Park, Tan Mai Ward, Nghe An Province, Hoa Sen Group, in collaboration with SP Group, held a groundbreaking ceremony for a 1,900 RT cooling energy system and inaugurated a 12.3 MWp rooftop solar power system.

The ceremony was attended by Mr. Le Tien Tri, Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee and Head of the Dong Nam Economic Zone Management Board. Also present were representatives from provincial departments, branches, and sectors, as well as Tan Mai and Quynh Thang wards.
Representing Hoa Sen Group were Mr. Nguyen Minh Phuc, Deputy CEO of Hoa Sen Group, and Mr. Ho Xuan Sy, Director of Hoa Sen Nghe An One Member LLC.
The industrial cooling system at the Hoa Sen Nghe An Factory, with a capacity of 1,900 RT under the CaaS (Cooling as a Service) model, is a modern and flexible cooling solution developed by SP Group.
Hoa Sen Group is the first enterprise in Vietnam to partner with SP Group to implement this technological solution. The system is expected to become operational in the second quarter of 2026.
Annually, this system will help reduce electricity consumption for cooling by over 30% and prevent the emission of more than 14,000 tons of CO₂, equivalent to the emissions of about 3,300 cars or the electricity supplied to approximately 3,900 households in Vietnam.
Previously, Hoa Sen Group had collaborated with SP Group to deploy rooftop solar power systems at several of its factories nationwide. The systems were commissioned at the Ton Hoa Sen Phu My Factory in March 2025 and at the Hoa Sen Nghe An Factory in June 2025, with a total capacity of 17.6 MWp.
The simultaneous implementation of these two clean energy solutions at Hoa Sen Group's largest production plant not only helps reduce production costs and improve operational efficiency but also affirms Hoa Sen's pioneering role in proactively greening its production activities.
This is also a significant step forward, demonstrating Hoa Sen Group's strong commitment to sustainable development linked with environmental protection, thereby enhancing its competitiveness and meeting the increasingly stringent market requirements for environmental and emission standards in the supply chain.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Phuc, Deputy CEO of Hoa Sen Group, shared: “The transition to clean energy, investment in power grid infrastructure, cooling systems, and energy-saving solutions for production activities at Hoa Sen Group’s factories nationwide has shown our strong determination in implementing a sustainable development strategy linked with environmental protection, striving to green our production, and contributing to and accompanying the Vietnamese Government in promoting the national goal of achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.”
Mr. Brandon Chia, Managing Director for Southeast Asia & Australia at SP Group, shared: “This is SP Group's first CaaS implementation project in Vietnam and a significant milestone in promoting sustainable cooling solutions in the industrial manufacturing sector. By providing an integrated and efficient model combining cooling solutions and solar power systems, we support customers like Hoa Sen Group in reducing greenhouse gas emissions while ensuring operational efficiency. SP Group looks forward to expanding this model to many other partners in the industrial manufacturing sector in the Vietnamese market in the near future”.
In parallel with its clean energy transition projects, Hoa Sen Group also proactively implements many effective energy management and use solutions, applying advanced technology to reduce production costs and improve product quality. Additionally, Hoa Sen Group focuses on internal training, coaching, and communication to raise awareness about energy management and environmental protection among all its staff and employees.
